Award and they keep - A trophy or award presented to a winner, that they get to keep. Not for re-presenting.
Centres - A 1"/25mm diameter sticker, which fits into the blank recess on the middle of medals, and many trophies. These can be custom built from your logos, pictures or photographs.
Crystal or Glass; what is it? - Quantifying this isn’t easy, I mean crystal is a glass. It is the lead content that determines its status, if you like. In Europe this is: - 4 – 10% lead monoxide content : Glass, 8 - 10% lead monoxide content : Lead glass, 10 - 20%: Crystal, 20% + : Lead Crystal.
Cup Face Engraving - This usually takes the title of the award and may be the association logo and/or the sport/topic it relates to.
Deep Engraving with paint filling - A rotating blade literally cuts out the letter within the metal. Afterwards the letters (holes in metal) are painted over (filled). The residue paint is removed and with a professional polish, the plaque looks great, leaving clear print seen from seom distance.
Logo to engrave - custom made & re-usable - During the order process, you'll be prompted to upload your graphic/image i.e. jpeg, bitmap etc. This will be converted by us into an engravable logo, which will be given a unique number i.e. LOGO000001. This is emailed to you, allowing easy re-ordering for you - just put your code into the engraving box
Medium-density fiberboard (MDF) - is an engineered wood product formed by breaking down softwood into wood fibers, often in a defibrator, combining it with wax and a resin binder, and forming panels by applying high temperature and pressure.
Nickel Plated - Doesn't tarnish like Silver Plate and it's a less expensive alternative. Beware, if handles get broken off, these are impossible to re-attach. We stock items with thicker handles.
Non-presentation box - This is usually nothing more than a plain cardboard box.
Perpetual Award - Awarded to the winner to hold for 12 months, or until the next recipient is determined. Winners names engraved on metal band, which fits over the round bases, or on a plaque attached to a square base.
Plinth Band - A metal cover that fits over bases of Cups/Trophies, which can be engraved yearly or more often with winners names.
Plinth Band Engraving - This is usually for the yearly winners 2008 T.Smith, 2009 J.Harper etc.
Presentable again & again (Perpetual) - Awarded to the winner to hold for 12 months, or until the next recipient is determined. Winners names engraved on metal band, which fits over the base.
Record shields - Small heart-shaped metal plaques attached to wooden shields for engraving winners names.
Salver/Platter/Tray - Basically a metal plate or dish of vaious shapes, weight, and metal. Title of award often engraved on the front, with yearly winners names on the rear
Shield Engraving - Engrave flat centre panel with title, may be the association logo and/or the sport/topic it relates to. Use surrounding record shields for engraving yearly winners.
Tarnish - A brownie colour, Silver tarnishes when it's exposed to air, which makes Silver appear dirty. Silver items become more tarnished with time.
Tarnish Free - Nickel can offer a range of similar looking items to Silver, but they don't tarnish.
Veneered Shield - Natural wood skin, which covers an MDF core.
